The Cohorts were commissioned by True to create a customised microsite to support Freeview’s Share Some Love campaign. Share Some Love encouraged people to give MyFreeview digital recorders as Christmas gifts. To support the campaign, True asked The Cohorts to build an online service that allowed people to design and send a Christmas card for free to their mums and dads and grandparents. Card recipients were automatically entered into a prize draw for a top-of-the-line television – and both the sender and recipient got to learn more about MyFreeview.
Bringing this fun idea to life involved four custom designs, custom fonts and graphics - pulled together in a step-by-step form process with live preview of the card at each stage of its development. The server then stored the entrant data along with generating a PDF of the card for Western Mailing fulfilment.
Traffic was pushed to the microsite by TVC's and placed advertising. The result; around 5000 free Christmas Cards with personalised messages were delivered, more MyFreeview digital recorders were sold, and one lucky winner got a huge television for Christmas as well.
