Reuben Reid, Director & Co-founder
Reuben’s ability to engage with clients and understand their digital needs is based on 17 years of experience in design, advertising, and marketing. He’s worked with clients ranging from multi-national corporations such as Fletcher Building, Sistema, and Higgins, to home-grown Kiwi enterprises. Reuben translates ‘tech jargon’ into plain English so clients can make well-informed decisions. Once a solution has been finalised, Reuben then manages the team to deliver for the client on deadline and on budget. His passion for the intricacies of fine design and his trained eye for maintaining brand integrity guides The Cohorts team to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients. Miriama Reid, Director & Co-founder
Miriama’s experience in advertising, marketing, and public relations helps The Cohorts take a holistic view of our clients communication needs. That helps us provide design and digital services that complement other communications activity to support your brand. Trained as a graphic designer, Miriama directs much of our design and takes a leading role in producing creative briefs and generating visual concepts. She also maintains a birds-eye view across all our projects to ensure design standards and creative integrity is consistently maintained. Ben Sims, CTO & Lead Developer
Ben brings to The Cohorts 12 years web development experience in London where he worked on development projects for multinationals and venture-capital-funded startups. He also worked on projects with some of London's premier agencies. His love for both ends of the development process (backend LAMP and frontend), along with superior debugging skills, make him an asset to any digital project.×
Steven Bone, Senior Developer
A web developer extraordinaire with special WordPress and ExpressionEngine backend coding, Steven has a BAppIS (Bachelor of Applied Information Systems) and a diploma in web development. Steve worked as a developer at a leading creative digital agency before moving to an independent practice. We’re pleased to have Steve in The Cohorts network.×
Joshua Reid, Web Developer & Designer
Josh combines creative experience and technical knowledge, with standards-compliant internet development techniques, to deliver top quality design-led websites. He aims for seamless integration from design and usability to development and accessibility. Josh brings to The Cohorts a unique understanding of the visual, logical, and interactive processes that enrich UX (user experience). Henry Penny, Senior Developer
Henry Graduated University back in the 20th century, with a Batchelor of Computer Science. After spending a few years working in J2EE he’s now a Full Stack LAMP developer with 15 years of PHP development experience across a variety of frameworks including Symfony, Laravel and Yii. His 20 years of commercial experience has taken him from NZ to Australia, the UK and back home again.
He’s worked with airlines, telecos, publishers (web and print), agricultural services and fast-food for corporates, start-ups and everything in between. He loves employing best practice techniques and technologies to create elegant and robust solutions.
Gareth Lockett, Web Developer & Designer
Gareth has 15 years experience in graphic design with a great working knowledge of digital design and frontend development as well as traditional print formats. With a Bachelor of Arts and Grad. Dip in Design, he has a considered approach which produces beautiful, user-centred solutions which don’t compromise on brand aesthetics. Gareth has worked on a wide range of web projects for both agencies and direct clients, project managing, designing and producing websites for brands and businesses in New Zealand, Australia and the US.×
